the patient as a partner
A lot has happened since the 8th world congress in San Diego in 2002. New treatments have been developed, new drugs are in the pipeline, and non-invasive diagnostic tests are on the horizon. Come to Maastricht and learn about these fascinating developments at the 9th World Congress on Endometriosis. It will be a congress of active participation, lively debate, animated discussion, with – in the lecture halls, at the poster boards and in the corridors – a wealth of new ideas, future trends, and interesting clinical progress. It will be the place where everyone involved in endometriosis will meet: patients, doctors, nurses, counsellors, and scientists.
This is where science meets the clinic.
This is where patient problems will be translated into basic research, which
in turn will be converted again into clinical solutions.
This is where we move from the workbench to the bedside, from the research
protocol to prescription drugs, from pain pathways to surgery, and from pathology
to quality of life. This is where we look at endometriosis as a whole entity.
The scientific program will focus on 11 main themes. A separate seminar will be devoted to each theme, with a world authority as the moderator, who will open each seminar with a state-of-the-art lecture. This will be followed by four selected oral free communications on the same topic. At the conclusion of the seminar, the moderator will wrap it up with an integrative summary defining targets for future research. Action will be a key word! We are here to move forward!
